How do I buy using my credit or debit card?

It’s quite simple to buy coins from Xcoins. As long as your credit or debit card is a Mastercard or Visa, you’re good to go.

How to buy crypto on Xcoins:

1. Select which cryptocurrency you would like to buy. We offer:
– Bitcoin (BTC)
– Ethereum (ETH)
– Litecoin (LTC)
– Ripple (XRP)
– Bitcoin Cash (BCH)

2. Choose how much you would like to purchase and click the “buy” button

3. Enter the wallet address you would like your coins to be sent to. Please ensure that you own this wallet.

4. Fill out your payment details. If this is an unsaved card, you will need to include your address

5. Click on ‘Buy now’

You may need to pass 3D secure. Depending on your bank or card supplier this could be either:
– A code sent to your phone which you input in the Xcoins website
– A call to your phone with a code which you input in the Xcoins website
– A push notification on your banking provider app

After your payment has been made, your card processor will get to work moving the money. This normally takes a few seconds, sometimes minutes.

Once you have confirmed your wallet address, by clicking on the email, and the payment is approved by your payment provider, your coins will be sent within 15 minutes. You will be able to track their delivery via the tracking link in your order. This will take a few minutes, depending on congestion on the blockchain and how quickly the confirmations take place.

Why didn’t my 3-D Authentication work? And what can I do about it?

How does 3-D authentication work?

You may have noticed recently when you use your card online that you are requested to enter an additional password or pin via a popup. Some card providers have simplified this process and prompt you instead to accept transactions via their mobile app.

What to do if it failed?

On rare occasions when 3D authentication fails and you receive an error message, you should check that you entered the right password. If you are unable to remember your password, you should contact your bank.

Can you give me an overview of bank fees? – Cash advance & exchange rate fees

Sometimes banks charge hidden fees for transactions.

Cash advance fee
On rare occasions, the amount you get charged may be higher than you expect. This is normally due to your bank or card issuer charging an additional Cash Advance Fee. This happens when your bank decides that your payment is a Cash Transaction.

Xcoins does not have control over this charge. If this happens, you should contact your bank and ask them to refund the fee they charged you. This happens because Visa and Mastercard in Jan 2018 decided to treat all cryptocurrency transactions as cash (MCC 6051). You can read more about this here.

Be careful to avoid misunderstandings with your bank or they may accidentally file a payment dispute, which, if not managed properly could damage your credit rating.

Exchange rate fee
Exchange rate fees are a lot easier to understand. Whenever money is exchanged by a bank from one currency to another, the bank takes a fee. If you hold money in Euros, make sure to purchase from Xcoins in Euros, and the same goes for using Dollars (USD).
